ABOUT US
Potentia /po ten tsi a
The latin word for power or strength.
We chose this name for our tutoring business because we believe in our students finding their own strength through the guidance of a tutor. ‘Potentia’ is also the Latin root of the word ‘potential.’ We realize that many students may be discouraged from past failures or struggles but we want them to know they are full of hidden power and strength! We have made it our goal to help them realize their potential by gaining confidence and independence through our various sessions and programs.
Bridget Kimball, the founder of Potentia has her Bachelor’s degree in Education and over 8 years of experience in the education field. Throughout her years as a homeroom teacher for 2nd through 6th grades, Miss Kimball has consistently been passionate about providing personalized, one-on-one support to her students. Not only has she tutored elementary students but also middle and highschool students in basic math, algebra, algebra II, geometry and trigonometry, language arts and Latin. While in the education field, she has worked with students of all ages in New York, Michigan, Minnesota, Kansas and Oregon as well as New Zealand.
Her background in private Catholic school has given her a love for conservative education and a realization of its importance especially today. Having been homeschooled herself during her first three years of education, Miss Kimball is eager to offer support and guidance to parents who are currently homeschooling their children. She believes these parents will find the perfect way to enhance and enrich their curriculum with her supplemental homeschooling programs.
Agnes Gallagher loves working with children and strives to share with them her deep love of learning, which she believes is a huge step along the road to academic success.
Miss Gallagher attended a small Catholic school in Warners, NY, where she received multiple academic awards, made the honor roll and graduated as valedictorian of her class. Agnes is currently in Kansas, pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. Throughout her schooling, and since then, she has enjoyed tutoring her younger siblings and fellow classmates with school lessons and homework.
